  • Today I have been doing some house keeping so I can begin operating with the 8000 DLE on a daily basis for a while. This go around I am trying to keep everything more simple, IE, no DDUTIL given that additional CAT ports have been added to PowerSDR.

    In the screen shot below you'll note that Diversity and PurSignal have some limitations being used together. Its also interesting to see the effect of Diversity on the overall noise floor by turning off limit stiched receivers. It clearly shows the affect of it being enabled as shown below on the spectrum it is applied to verses the spectrum outside its window of impact.

    So essentially in a nut shell one needs to limit the stitched receivers to have both Diversity and PS running. Interestingly I am seeing where a 3rd ADC might become practical, even though that's hard to fathom.

  • Today saw the setup of digital modes in DM780. I opted to use VB Cable virtual audio cables and bought the A+B cables for $12.50. I am trying to create a more simple install this time and I feel that both VB Cables and Advanced Virtual Com Ports are working well.

    I was able to make a QSO just fine with PSK31 on 20M.

    I also took time to trouble shoot the Midi controller and get the data over to Chris on the Yahoo group for my Gehringer Studio CMD 2A.


    Last but not least I calibrated the PA again for each band... I had to reset the Database a few times and so after getting the issues that were quirky worked out, I redid it and then also got Pure Signal enabled.

  • Well, I finally picked back up work on the Anan 8000 DLE review this morning. Sorry I have been quiet for a while but the time I had was limited and I spent it fiddling with the DJ panel and decided I will come back to that later. So this morning I got CAT working with HRD and ComCat. This ended up being a little funky and created a few PowerSDR Mrx crashes but all is well now.

    I also went ahead and got my Mic working. Strangely, better than i ever have before using the Mic input on the front of the rig directly to the Phones jack on my Presonus Fire Studio and a single isolator. I made my first QSO and got fine audio which is not bad for zero tuning. Next I will go through the detailed audio chain tuning to get it all fully adjusted.

  • If you have t tried searching using this part number for the 6700T CPU, you may have a lot more luck finding it and finding it cheaper. "I7 + SR3L3" being the key to finding it in search.

  • Would seem that this is the Motherboard in the radio:

    Even though it is branded Novotone, it appears to be Gigbyte basesd.

    In case anyone wanted it:

    You can just download a Motherboard Info Utility if your curious about learning more about it. I don't recommend trying to update it.
