Can't swear by this, but I think I once heard it was an industrial unix variant, like POSIX or similar. mike might mention it in his review here of the 6700 in the archives.

NI0Z created a new forum post in Expert Electronics
I have been playing around with remote access today, really slick! I think with a few minor tweaks in ExpertSDR that Expert Electronics could easily market this as another feature. In reference to NoMachine that I spoke about earlier, I wanted to just quickly talk about it. After getting an unsolicited awesome audio report today on the Maritime Mobile Service Network 14,300,000 for a check-in I decided I finally had it tuned. The funny thing is, is so easy to actually setup once you figure it out. Its really a matter of turning things off in ExpertSDR rather than making special changes. The reason is this, NoMachine leverages the standard sound mapper input and output. So basically you need to turn off the soundcard and so transmit audio doesnt loop and then use RX1 VAC to get receive audio. Streaming in NoMachine needs to be turned on along with audio and the Mic. You need to turn on the Mic in NoMachine each time you use it.

    See the review for screenshots.

I also plan to try it with My Galaxy S3 Tablet soon as well! You need a headset though or you will have some funky transmit issues. Also, see Post review Notes at the very bottom of the review for some perspective on what this means in terms of the bigger picture. In summary though, since one can load all their software onto the radio, you could pretty much run everything you want remote. For example, my Rotator is software controllable via PST rotator, so I could easily swing as needed. Logging, Digital Modes, the whole nine yards, its all doable.

NI0Z replied to the topic FDM DUO Review in Elad SDRs
Well folks, I have the DUO up and running now, this is my second attempt at an update, thanks to my iPad...arghhh

So it's up and running fine, audio is really crisp and clean using my little Bose and Radio Shack speakers, rather impressive actually. The software seems a little wobbly so far, guessing this may be due to leaky RF and I have deployed a small fleet of ferrites on the cables. I have both antenna ports in use, one with a receive antenna that's ground led when the other radios transmit and one that follows a full TX/RX circuit and is chained through both Elecraft Amps via my switching matrix.

With 2.5 watts I get 500 watts out via the KPA100/500 combo. I am getting good audio reports (solicited) with the hand Mic. I have had a few long QSOs but Band conditions are really very awful in the afternoons here which is usually when I get around to p,aging with the DUO. It's hard to want to play with it with the MB1 in the shack, I will be honest about that. There is a lot to learn with this radio still, so it will be a while until the review is ready, guessing maybe late June at this poi as I want to do justice to it. Thinking this will be one I sell when I am done later this year, but that's where it sits for now.

So far I feel it's a little awkward to use with the few buttons and knobs via a deep menu system. But more on that in another post after I a, familiar with it all. I think if someone wanted a really nice compact setup and could find the right but small amp for it (solid state would be a good option) then a small but capable computer and screen could make for a nice small station capable of saving space but getting a Ham out there operating all modes.

That's this weeks update on the DUO.. more to come.

Sounds good Adam, I will add a link to your site once I add the SDR Sites Menu. Should be tomorrow.

Also, I wondered if you keep a matrix of the radios you have reviewed, aka, like Sherwood so we can see how the radios you are reviewing stack up against each other?
